Since Rajko Kozmelj was named the head of the agency, the cooperation between the labor unions and SOVA has improved. That’s according to the president of the Public Agency Union Frančišek Verk. “They called off the strike because Kozmelj assured them that the situation will improve,” he says.

The agency’s labor union had opted for the strike in order to demand changes to the pay grade system, the social dialog process, and an increase in the number of employees. The strikers have warned that the number of employees is currently too low, which is causing burnout; they also demanded higher salaries, adds Verk.

Negotiations between SOVA employees and the new government are expected to begin soon after Kozmelj is confirmed as the head of the agency, the daily Večer reports on its website.
